Knowing Your Market

Before I took the E-marketing class, I thought that marketing is just about "how would you sell" your product and how you could standout from your competition well I was partly wrong. As the weeks go by I came to realize that Marketing is more than just that. It turned out that marketing is a two-way street, its not only about coming up with the most innovative product and the most ingenious marketing plan its also about knowing the your customer and paying attention to their needs. Obviously I'm no business tycoon and that my knowledge in the arts are limited but to know more about Digital Marketing Research and Planing I can recommend buying this book, DIGIMarketing, by Fenwick and Wertime. But to give you a brief background on the topic, the authors summarized it in 4 parts, and is divided into 12 steps. First Part Consumers as Participants, creating a Participant Print and setting up a goal. In this part, the marketer must study the habits and preferences of their target market and base their goal on the gathered data. Second Part is creating your digital platform, which involves defining your Platform proposition, organizing Channel mix and creative concepts and creating a Content-Outline both company-provided and consumer-created. In this part, you have to create a totality of the digital assets through which you and the participants will have ongoing engagement. Part Three is Generating Awareness and Influence, these includes Messaging and Viral plan, Digital Awareness plan, Digital Influence plan, channel Unification plan. This part for me is the typical marketing that I used to know. Where you advertise your product by maximizing all available mediums. Last part but the most important part for me is the Harnessing of data, analytics and optimization. The purpose of all of these steps is to generate and utilize data so creating a clear data plan is essential. So there you have it, I hope this can serve as a stepping-stone to all those who are in the dark when it comes to marketing.

I like to listen to some heavy music, it serves as an outlet for all of my aggression. I was born April 4 1988 in Quezon City. I'm not the type of person who shares so much information about myself online, I like to tell my story personally because I like to make people smile and I know that my story will make people smile. Anyway I am really passionate about music. I started playing guitar when I was in 2nd yr high school and I was never the same. I spent almost my entire college life studying and playing the guitar.
